Wali Cham is a Kora maestro and one of the finest musicians of his generation. Born in Senegal, he grew up in Gambia under the guidance of ‘Master of the Kora’, Amadu Bansang Jobarteh, and was his last student.


Wali Cham is a member of the Afrcan Classical Music Ensemble and has worked with some of the world’s greatest artists including; Kasse Mady Diabate, Oumou Sangare, Toumani Diabate, Sambou Suso, the BBC Philharmonic orchestra and the Reggae artist, Luciano. He has also collaborated with members of the Pan African Orchestra in Ghana and the Indian Dance Company of Anureka Ghosh.


Over the years he has toured exclusively in Africa, Europe and the Far East including TV and Radio appearances in USA, UK, France and China. He has also contributed to recordings for the Nomadic Mystics, the African Classical Music Ensemble and released his own debut album, ‘Legacy’.
