Kasse Mady Diabaté
Kasse Mady is a legendary Malian vocalist and has been recognised as one of West Africa’s greatest voices for over 35 years. He is one of Mali’s most cherished singers and is known for his profound knowledge of their deepest oral and musical traditions with an ability to adapt them into a modern context. He has worked with some of the greatest singers and musicians on the International scene including, Taj Mahal, Toumani Diabaté, Oumou Sangaré and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
Kasse Mady has performed with the African Classical Music Ensemble for many years and recorded with them on the soundtrack for the American documentary-film, Hopes on the Horizon. He is also the featured in the documentary-film on Tunde by Ron Wyman and is the lead artist on their debut album, There was a Time, which is available from the shop or from i-Tunes.
He also has numerous albums of his own including the beautiful acoustic album, ‘Kela Tradition’ and his latest album, “Manden Djeli Kan’, produced by Cheick Tidiane Seck.
